The Principal and Managing Director is Shawn Plummer, a highly experienced mariner, who grew up in Polruan on the Fowey estuary.
Having sailed and raced on the Fowey Estuary since he was 10, Shawn naturally progressed to a life at sea in the Merchant Navy, sailing on ships ranging from Oil Tankers to Passenger Ships. He then worked ashore as a Training Officer, later becoming a Deputy Harbour Master and Pilot in Rye, East Sussex. Progressing to a Group Training Manager with a shipping company, he managed a successful team of 43 staff, directing the training of 10,000 seafarers globally.
Shawn still works as a consultant to the Shipping Industry.
The Office Manager Victoria Plummer is in love with the Fowey Estuary and is keen to ensure you are also enthused by the sailing and powerboat opportunities we have to offer.
She will ensure you are looked after and enjoy listening to your experiences at Fowey Maritime Centre. When you contact us by phone it will most likely be Victoria who handles your enquiries and bookings personally.
